About Us

Co Angel Investment and North West Business Angels (NWBA) have joined together to offer their services in tandem, as a more joined up approach to angel investment for Greater Manchester and the wider North West.

The Manchester Growth Company’s Co Angel Investment Service, funded and supported by the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, was launched by Sir Howard Bernstein in November 2014 and is an innovative investment management service designed to help exciting, high growth businesses access funding from syndicates of sector specific business angels.

Populated by venture capital and fund management professionals, Co Angel understands the issues and strains facing young, growing businesses as they seek to unlock the funding solutions they need to develop and also the requirements and expectations of private investors when evaluating opportunities.

Post investment, the team at Co Angel remain engaged with investee businesses and provide mentoring, NED and strategic support services to ensure that growth opportunities are realised and capitalised upon.

Co Angel increases business angel activity and provides structured and professional corporate finance and investment processes to the Greater Manchester and wider North West SME sector in association with a number of partners.

North West Business Angels (NWBA) connects young and growing companies seeking investment with investors actively looking for investment opportunities in the North West.

Part of the Manchester Growth Company (MGC), NWBA is one of the UK’s longest established and most successful business angel networks. It has an outstanding track record of supporting early stage businesses with access to angel funding. Affiliated to MGC's Growth Hub's Access to Finance team, the service has raised in excess of £30m for a diverse range of businesses across the North West.

Investment in new business carries high risks as well as the possibility of high rewards. It is highly speculative and potential investors should be aware that no established market exists for the trading of share in private companies. Before investing in a project about which information is given, potential investors are strongly advised to take professional advice from a person who specialises in advising on investments of this kind. Co Angel Investment Service cannot advise on the merits or risks of investments and is not authorised to arrange transactions or circulate offer documents.
